Pramjit Singh graduated with the Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from University of London, United Kingdom in 1996. He completed his Certificate of Legal Practice (CLP) in 1998 and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 24.04.1999.
He commenced his pupillage under the tutelage of Mr Gurbachan Singh from Messrs Bachan & Kartar under the guidance of Mr Gurbachan who is well known senior lawyer who had undertaken many civil and criminal matters which are reported in the law journals which had impart on the law of both civil and criminal matters, including most notably in the trial of Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Thereafter, upon the admission to the Malaysian Bar, he then joined Messrs Choong Yik Son & Fiona Ghaus, a well known banking firm where he was given the privilege to head the banking litigation department for profolio of matters of Public Bank, Maybank, Bank Bumiputera Malaysia Berhad (now know as CIMB Bank) and other civil litigation matters. Here, he was able to experience the legal actions including hire purchase matters, housing loan actions, credit cards, term and overdraft loans, writ of seizure and sale, judgement debtor summons, bankruptcy and winding up matters. After gaining the necessary experience, he then joined Messrs Mohd Noor & S.Y. Lee under the experienced Mr Lee Seong Yan, a senior member of legal fraternity who did both conveyancing matters and general civil litigation which enable to get involved in diverse areas of the law such as will dispute, probate and administration, family matters, bankruptcy and winding up actions, garnishee proceedings, construction disputes and other commercial disputes. This experience enabled him then to move to Kuala Lumpur to experience wider areas of the law at Messrs Manjit Singh Sachdev, Mohd Radzi & Partners. Therein, he was exposed to numerous areas of law never done before including taxation of cost, injunctions application as well as heavily contested banking matter. Having to learn the ropes at the previous firm, he then decided to join Messrs K.K. Lim & Associates as senior legal assistance, a strong banking firm which did predominately Ambank banking litigation matters where he was the head of the litigation departments doing all the banking matters. Having worked there for 8 years, upon dissolution of Messrs K.K. Lim & Associates, he then joined his former employer, Dato Seri Jess Ling, to form a partnership known as Messrs J S Ling,
Diyana & Singh. Lastly, after many years, he decided to join Messrs Harjit Sandhu Wan & Associates as a partner, wherein he handled many contested matters including suit against the State Government of Terengganu as well as being involved in heavy construction dispute which led to arbitration proceedings against one of the industries’ developers which enable his client to successful obtain arbitration award in their favour.
Finally, in earlier this year, he decided to form the firm with Ms Beh Wan Jin, wherein he is handling all litigation matters and his partner handling conveyancing department.
